About Aquelarre
PRESS KIT – DISCOS AQUELARRE
Underground. Freedom. Community.
ABOUT DISCOS AQUELARRE
Discos Aquelarre is not just a record label or a party—it is a cultural movement, a safe space, and a resistance against the commercialized music industry. Recognized by the Ministerio de Cultura del Perú, Aquelarre has been at the forefront of underground music, empowering artists and marginalized communities through music, art, and activism.
Founded by Daniel Martinetti (aka Elegante & La Imperial, Danny eM, Saeztti), Aquelarre began in Lima, Perú in 2015 and has since expanded to San José, California. It continues to offer an alternative to traditional nightlife—where inclusivity, artistic freedom, and community-building take priority over profit and elitism.
THE MISSION OF AQUELARRE
Aquelarre was born as a response to an exclusionary and often unsafe electronic scene. It exists for those who never felt they belonged in VIP sections or luxury festivals—it is for the real lovers of music, the underground, and true connection.
Core Values:
• A Safe Space for All: Women, LGBTQ+, and marginalized artists find in Aquelarre a space of protection, respect, and liberation.
• No VIP, No Elitism: Everyone is equal on the dancefloor—no divisions, no exclusion, only music and unity.
• Musical Freedom: DJs and performers are encouraged to experiment, blend genres, and push boundaries, keeping the spirit of underground music alive.
• A Community-Driven Movement: Aquelarre is more than a party; it is a family of artists, musicians, dancers, and activists.
• Activism & Consciousness: The movement promotes awareness in social justice, animal rights, and cultural resistance.
“Aquelarre is not just a party; it is a refuge and a platform for those of us who need to be heard without fear.”
— Cala (DJ, Perú)
AQUELARRE: THE ORIGINS & EVOLUTION
Aquelarre has grown over nine years, maintaining its DIY ethos and commitment to community over commercialization.
• Created out of necessity – Aquelarre started as a space for those who felt excluded from Lima’s commercial club scene.
• A decade of continuity – Since its first edition, Aquelarre has never stopped.
• Cultural Recognition – Officially acknowledged by the Ministerio de Cultura del Perú as an important cultural movement.
• Expansion to the U.S. – Now in San José, California, continuing to build an international community.
“Aquelarre is my small grain of rice to the world—a space to spread love, respect, and freedom.”
— Danny eM (Founder, Discos Aquelarre)
WHAT MAKES AQUELARRE UNIQUE?
🖤 A SAFE SPACE FOR TRUE EXPRESSION
Aquelarre prioritizes safety and respect, ensuring that women, LGBTQ+, and all attendees feel free to be themselves. The door policy is strict—troublemakers are kept out, ensuring an atmosphere of unity.
“In all these years, there has never been a fight at Aquelarre. In a city where alcohol-fueled events often lead to problems, that speaks volumes.”
🔊 A HAVEN FOR MUSICAL FREEDOM
Aquelarre embraces musical diversity—from house, techno, and tropical bass to experimental electronic sounds.
“When I played at Aquelarre, I felt a unique connection with the audience. I was able to explore new genres that I couldn’t in other places.”
— Yozty (DJ, Perú)
🌍 COMMUNITY, ACTIVISM & SOCIAL IMPACT
Aquelarre extends beyond the dancefloor, raising awareness and encouraging activism.
• Animal rights activism
• LGBTQ+ and women’s rights advocacy
• Mental health awareness and support
• Opportunities for emerging artists
“Aquelarre gave me my first opportunity. It’s still really difficult to find places that genuinely care about what you do… That’s why Aquelarre will always be ‘home’ for me.”
— Melito (DJ & Graphic Designer, Venezuela)

🇺🇸 San José, California – The New Ritual
Since moving to San José, Danny eM has begun expanding Aquelarre into the U.S., blending Latin rhythms with underground electronic music.
